Job Classification: Single function EMT - B or Paramedic
The city of Wylie is giving our next exam in person on Oct 25, 2025, if you cannot make this date, you can do the test online. You have until Oct 25, 2025 at midnight to complete the exam. We do not pay for the exam online. If you come to the in person exam, it is free.
The City of Wylie requires FireTEAM and valid physical agility. We will be testing until all positions are filled. Physical agility is by invitation only. ***You must apply online to be invited to the physical agility*****
Any applicants who do not currently possess Texas State or National EMT or Texas State or Paramedic certifications by January 1, 2026 will not be considered for hire.

Salary Information: EMT-B Salary = $66,967.00/annually, Paramedic Salary = $75795.80/annually

Eligibility Requirements
· Minimum age 18, high school diploma or equivalent
· Possess and maintain a valid State of Texas DSHS Paramedic or National Registry Paramedic Certification for the paramedic position
· Possess and maintain a valid State of Texas DSHS EMT or National Registry Certification for EMT for the EMT position
· Must complete the Wylie PAT which measures agility, strength, balance, coordination and stamina.
· Must possess or acquire an unrestricted Texas Motor Vehicle Operator's License
· Must have passed all required certifications by the hire date.
