Pay Range: $62,106.72 - $76,674.87 (per IAFF contract)
Job Summary: An eligibility roster is being established for the position of Firefighter. The list will be used to fill vacancies occurring for at least six (6) months from the date the list is certified.
Firefighters provide emergency assistance and protective services. They protect life and property threatened by the fire, explosion, hazardous materials, medical emergencies, accidents and other hazards that may arise. Activities include emergency response, training, and drill activities, pre-fire planning, and maintenance of apparatus, facilities, and equipment. Firefighters are assigned to a 24-hour rotating shift and may be exposed to hazardous conditions and risk of personal injury. The successful candidate will be IFSAC Certified Firefighter 1, Washington State or Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and certified to the IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations Level (or equivalent); they will also possess an EVIP or VFIS Driver Training Certificate.

Age: Must be twenty-one (21) years of age by date of hire.
US Citizen: U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States who can read and write the English language.
High School Grad/GED: Yes
Valid WASHINGTON State Driver's License: Possess a valid Washington State driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
Hiring Procedure: The department is establishing an eligibility roster for future employment opportunities. The list will be used to fill vacancies occurring for at least six (6) months from the date the list is certified by the Civil Service Commission.
Offers of employment will be conditional upon verification of minimum qualifications and ability to pass a comprehensive medical examination, pre-employment drug screening, and a criminal and driver's background check.
