Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue is currently creating an eligibility list for current and future openings for entry level Firefighter – Paramedic.
The eligibility list is valid for up to 24 months.
We currently are planning for a Spring 2020 academy.
Candidates must have completed and passed the FireTEAM test administered by National Testing Network by the application submission date and have a Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) dated December 19, 2018, or later. A CPAT will be accepted from any organization authorized and licensed by the IAFF and IAFC.
Candidates who move to the background and reference phase will need to complete the Personnel History Questionnaire (PHQ) at that time.
$4,927 - $7,013 per month as of July 1, 2019

Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue is Oregon's largest fire district. We are located in one of the fastest growing regions in the state. Our service area includes most of Washington County and parts of Multnomah, Yamhill, and Clackamas County. Additional education: In addition to a high school diploma or equivalent, post-high school education or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Academy Certification: No
Prior Experience: None required
Necessary Certifications: Oregon Paramedic license by time of hire.
Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: All non-expunged convictions must be disclosed, and are reviewed in relation to number, severity, date, and other relevant circumstances. Candidates must not have any criminal convictions that would prevent certifications from the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standard and the Oregon Health Authority.
Driving Disqualifiers: Must possess a current, valid driver’s license that is recognized by the state of Oregon and maintain a driving record insurable by the District’s insurer in order to drive a District vehicle.
Additional Disqualifiers: Must meet National Fire Protection (NFPA) standards for health and fitness. Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen and psychological evaluation.
