Job Classification: Reserve Police Officer (Unpaid Volunteer)
The City of Dallas is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill vacancies for Reserve Police Officers. These are intermittent, volunteer positions. For more information, visit our website at http://www.dallasor.gov/332/Job-Opportunities.
All qualified candidates must take the FrontLine National test OR the National Police Officer Selection Test (POST) and have a valid passing ORPAT (all tests must have been completed after February 28, 2018). Candidates must also complete a City of Dallas Law Enforcement application, found at http://www.dallasor.gov/215/How-to-Apply. Applicants are responsible for contacting NTN and arranging for their own testing. If you have completed the ORPAT and/or POST with another department, you may submit your results on department letterhead with your application.

Department Overview: The dedicated professionals of Dallas PD serve a population of about 15,600 residents. Our staff includes nineteen sworn police officers, five civilian staff members and a cadre of dedicated volunteers who share their own time in the capacity of reserve police officers, a chaplain and office assistants. The members of the Dallas Police Department truly care about the safety of our community and providing excellent customer service. Our policing philosophy balances a foundation of traditional policing concepts with innovative and progressive methods to help evolve with our citizens into the future. Community problems are often best addressed by working in partnership with citizens; therefore, Dallas PD will continually strive to improve public relations and increase public confidence.
Area Information: Located in the heart of the Willamette Valley, Dallas is in the heart of it all. Just 13 miles west of Salem, close to the coast, and an easy drive from beautiful vineyards and wineries, we think you'll find just what you are looking for in Dallas. Dallas has many treasures, with many beautiful City parks, the Dallas Aquatic Center, and small town charm. A short drive away is the 2,500 acre Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge, the Black Rock trail system - Oregon's first free ride area for mountain biking, and award-winning wines.

Schooling Prior and Post Hiring: Once selected, must complete Mid Valley Reserve Training Academy.
