Classification: EMTMarion County Fire Rescue will be conducting a hiring process for Single-Certified EMT; job posting opens February 15, 2019, and will remain open until filled. County applications will be accepted only during open job posting and must be submitted online by visiting the Marion County Human Resources website. After the closing date, the department will email applicants regarding the next phase of the selection process.
STEP #1: Applicants are required to complete the FireTEAM exam through National Testing Network. This test must be completed within a year (365 days) prior to the closing date on the job posting. Age: 18 Years of Age
US Citizen: Lawfully work in the U.S.
High School Grad/GED: High School diploma or G.E.D.
Valid FLORIDA State Driver's License: Must Have a Valid Florida Driver License.
Ability to Read/Speak English: Must be able to read and speak the English Language.
Vision: Vision requirements follow the guidelines as outlined in NFPA 1582.
Necessary Certifications: State of Florida EMT License
BLS for Healthcare Provider (CPR)
Schooling Post Hiring: Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)
Specific Disqualifiers/Behaviors: Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: A criminal history background investigation is conducted prior to hire, following Florida Statute 112.011 regarding felony convictions.
Driving Disqualifiers: A poor driving record will classify a candidate as undesirable; however, it will not necessarily remove a candidate from consideration.
Drug Use Disqualifiers: Marion County is a drug-free work place. A pre-employment drug screen is conducted prior to hire.
Employment Disqualifiers: A poor employment history will classify a candidate as undesirable; however, it will not necessarily remove a candidate from consideration.
Additional Disqualifiers: Tobacco Use Disqualifiers: The applicant must have abstained from the use of tobacco products for twelve months prior to application and may not use tobacco products during employment.
