The Springdale Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Entry Level Firefighter/EMT's and Firefighter/Paramedics. Applicants must have successfully passed the NTN test, received their CPAT certification and submitted a completed City of Springdale application by 4pm CST on Monday, July 1, 2019.

The department requires the candidate PHQ. You can access the questionnaire through your candidate account. The PHQ must be completed by the closing date or you may not be considered further in the process.
Salary Information: Annual starting salary: $36,773 for FF/EMT $44,152 for FF/Paramedic

Department Overview: We are a full service municipal department that responds to: Fire, EMS, Haz-Mat, and Technical Rescue Emergency events. Springdale Fire Department and its members strive for excellence in all we do. We're proud to say that our department has an ISO Class 1 rating and is a CFAI Accredited department. And, we are currently working to obtain our CASS Ambulance Accreditation too. We are involved in teaching fire and life safety skills in our schools and public venues. We work 24/48 shifts which means you will work 24 hours on-duty and then have 48 hours off. Our fire, EMS, and rescue coverage area is 48 square miles. Our department responds to approximately 8,400 calls per year. We staff 6 stations with a total of 122 sworn personnel and 4 civilian employees. Our 7th station is currently under construction with completion scheduled for spring of 2019, and stations 8 & 9 will be opened by 2021. The opening of these stations means we will be hiring additional personnel. There's no better time to apply than now!

Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision: Correctable to 20-20 per NFPA Standard 1582.
Necessary Certifications: Nothing required, but EMT certification preferred.
Schooling: 1. Prior to Hiring: High School Diploma or GED
2. Post Hiring: Firefighter I & II Certifications, Haz-Mat Awareness & Operations, and Arkansas EMT License(Post hiring education is provided by SFD, if needed.)
Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: Any felony conviction related to drugs or crimes against a person.
Driving Disqualifiers: One DWI conviction within past 13 months or more than one DWI.
Drug Use Disqualifiers: Any felony conviction or failing a pre-employment drug screen.
Additional Disqualifiers: If you are found to be falsifying any information on your application, you will be disqualified from employment.
