The City of Long Beach is currently accepting applications for Police Recruit beginning July 13, 2018. Filing will remain open until vacancies are filled. Filing may close without further notice.
The City’s application can be accessed through the City’s website http://www.longbeach.gov/civilservice/, then click on “Current Job Opportunities.” You must submit a City application for Police Recruit in order for your NTN scores to be processed through the City. After applying, you will receive notification to schedule your NTN Frontline National Exam through the NTN website.
PLEASE NOTE: Applicants who test prior to September 17, 2018, and receive passing NTN/PELLETB exam scores will be eligible for consideration into a Police Recruit Academy expected to start in the Summer of 2019. Candidates who test after this date and receive passing NTN/PELLETB exam scores may be considered for future Police Academy classes.
There is no need to fill out a Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) through NTN and/or take a Physical Ability Test (PAT) as these two processes will be given by the Long Beach Police Department at a later date.

Salary Information: $33.37 while in the Long Beach Police Academy (increases to $37.08 upon academy graduation)
Age: 20 years of age or older at time of filing
US Citizen: U.S. citizenship or have applied for citizenship. Citizenship must be granted within three years of appointment.

Valid CALIFORNIA State Driver's License: Yes
