Sun City Fire & Medical Department is currently building an eligibility list for Recruit Firefighter. This position requires FireTEAM and a valid CPAT (less than 6 months old).
Salary Information: Recruit Firefighter: $20.89Firefighter: $45,650 - $64,089 annual

Department Overview: The Sun City Fire District itself was formed on June 16, 1966 and is one of the busiest of the 170+ fire districts in Arizona. The Sun City Fire & Medical Department is part of a consortium of fire departments along with Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Tempe, Tolleson, Laveen and Daisy Mountain. Our fire stations are geographically distributed throughout the community and a typical fire department paramedic response averages only 3 minutes 45 seconds. The Sun City Fire & Medical Department runs in excess of 14,000 calls per year.
Area Information: Sun City is the first active, planned adult community in Arizona. It is perfectly situated in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area and residents can take full advantage of the Great American Southwest in every direction from the Painted Desert to the snow-capped mountains, to the sun-soaked beaches of California. The sun shines over ten months out of the year and there is no shortage of outdoor recreational opportunities ranging from a myriad of golf courses to 10 spring training facilities hosting 15 major league baseball teams. The Phoenix weather is what makes it an ideal city to live in, assuming you like sunshine and warm temperatures. Yes it gets very hot but it is typically only July and August that have high temperatures and the winter months are very mild.

Must be Arizona state certified Emergency Medical Technician or Certified Emergency Paramedic by hire date. Current CPAT certification required.
Schooling Prior and Post Hiring:
Pre-hiring: Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.Post-hiring: must successfully complete fire academy.
Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: Convictions of a criminal offense that may have bearing on one's employment.
Driving Disqualifiers: Must maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license and no DUI convictions within the last 60 months.
Drug Use Disqualifiers: This is a safety-sensitive position therefore medical marijuana use is not accepted in this position.
