The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is a full service law enforcement agency with jurisdiction throughout Fayette County. The Fayette County Sheriff operates the county jail, provides dispatch service for law enforcement, fire, and EMS, and provides primary law enforcement services to all areas of the county outside of the City of Washington Court House.
Fayette County is a rural county in south central Ohio. Fayette County is approximately 406 square miles and conveniently located near the cities of Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus, Ohio.

Academy Certification: SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE OHIO BASIC CORRECTIONS OFFICERS ACADEMY WITHIN FIRST YEAR OF EMPLOYMENT
Prior Experience: PREFERRED BUT NOT NECESSARY
Eligibility List: Those applicants that have successfully completed the hiring process, up to the conditional offer of employment and who were not selected for will be placed on the eligibility list to be considered for employment vacancies for a two(2) year period from the completion of their interview.
Those applicants who are on the eligibility list will not be required to complete the new application.
