The Fairfax County Sheriff's Office is currently hiring for Deputy Sheriff I positions.

Salary Information: $52,660.61 - $85,780.66 Annually

Department Overview: The Sheriff’s Office was created in 1742, at the same time Fairfax County was formed. Today, the Sheriff’s Office is one of three public safety agencies responsible for the safety and well-being of the 1.14 million residents of Fairfax County.
Fairfax County Deputy Sheriffs are certified law enforcement officers. Each Deputy Sheriff receives additional certifications in jail security, court security and civil process to perform the functions of the position.

Valid VIRGINIA State Driver's License: Required
Ability to Read/Speak English: Required
Vision: 20/20 correctable
College: Not required. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree are eligible for advanced step placement.
Schooling Prior and Post Hiring: Successful completion of the academy and Field Training Program.

Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: Must never have committed, been involved in, or been convicted of a felony offense; not have been convicted of or pled guilty or no contest to a felony or any offense that would be a felony in the Commonwealth or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, misdemeanor sex offense or domestic assault.
No Smoking : Incumbents shall not use any tobacco products on and off duty starting at the time of appointment.
The Incumbent must be willing to sign a Condition of Employment Agreement acknowledging the prohibition of the use of tobacco products both on and off duty.
