College: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 60 college credit hours or two years military service preferred.
Academy Certification: Colorado Post Certification Required
Hiring Process: Candidates Selected from testing will undergo a comprehensive background check. Upon successful completion of the background check, candidates will be invited to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for an Oral Board proceeding. Board members will then provide their Candidate recommendations to the Sheriff and Undersheriff. If selected from this process by the Sheriff and Undersheriff, the Candidate will receive a letter from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office stating a conditional offer of employment. Should the candidate accept this offer, a letter stating a final offer of employment will be received contingent on the successful completion of a polygraph examination, psychological examination, physical examination, and final Sheriff interview.
