Department Information: Palos Fire Protection District serves a community of approximately 32,000 residents. We operate 2 Fire Stations with one 105’ ladder truck, 2 ALS engines, and 3 ALS ambulances. We participate in Dive, CART, and Hazardous Materials Teams.

All members are also sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Illinois, and the laws and ordinances of the Palos Fire Protection District.

Valid ILLINOIS State Driver's License: Valid Illinois State Drivers License
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision: 20/20 or Corrected
Academy Certification: Academy Certified, IL State Basic Fire Fighter, EMT-P, Hazardous Materials Operations
Hiring Process: Application, Interview, Criminal Background Check, and NFPA Physical.
Shift Assignment: Palos Fire offers both 12 and 24 hours rotating shift schedules. Holidays and weekends are required.
