The Shelby Police Department is currently building an ongoing eligibility list for Dispatcher. Candidates will be placed on an eligibility list for potential vacancies in the future.

Salary Information: $20.10/HR up to $25.42/HR start of Third Year
Benefit Information: 12-hour shifts, Shift Differential, Holiday Pay, Longevity Pay, Uniform Allowance, Specialty Pay Equivalent to 3 HRS Pay per Pay Period, including college degree pay (Capped at 9 HRS), 80 hrs vacation after the first year, incremental up to 200 hrs after 20 years. Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, Health (no monthly premium), Dental, Vision and Life Insurance.

Department Overview: The Shelby Police Department is a 21 person department that works collaboratively with several other agencies, and dispatches for both Shelby Police and Plymouth Police and serves as a backup dispatch to Shelby Fire and half of county fire departments.
Area Information: Shelby is a small, rural community located in Northwestern Richland County. We have excellent schools, including a new high school in 2013 and a new Pre K-8 facility and athletic complex in 2022, several parks, a community YMCA, several churches, and affordable housing. We are ten minutes from a larger commercial retail shopping area and halfway between Cleveland and Columbus.
