Classification: Police Officer

Police Officers are sworn members who are twenty-one years of age or older. As a uniformed Baltimore Police Officer, you are assigned to patrol a neighborhood. Employees in this class work rotating shifts including evening, weekends and holiday hours. In this capacity, you respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service and promote the safety of the public and of fellow police officers. You will be a proactive member of our Department, engaging in community-oriented policing, traffic enforcement, and on occasion, special details.

The Baltimore City Police Department does not require the PSSA as part of your application.

Testing on NTN will be open continuously. Test results will be pulled by the Baltimore City Police Department to be considered for the position. Salary Information: Starting Salary $64,416

$10,000 signing bonus
$5,000/year additional student loan assistance for new hires
$1,000/month housing allowance for officers who re-locate to Baltimore City. Housing allowance allocated for first 12 months

Disqualifiers (Not all inclusive) :

Driving Record: not to exceed 5 points
Poor Driving Record
DWI/DUI conviction within the last 2 Years
Military Record: Separation less than Honorable
Arrest Record: Any Felony Convictions
Currently on Parole or Probation. All misdemeanor charges must be expunged
Applicants are ineligible if they have illegally used marijuana for any purpose within 1 year
Medical History: Must be mentally and physically qualified
Integrity: Being truthful is utmost important; telling a lie or altering the truth at any stage of the process will disqualify your current and any future applications

Baltimore City Police written examination is offered through the National Testing Network at testing centers locally and around the United States.

The cost of the examination is free for all applicants.
