The Northern Colorado Firefighter Recruitment Consortium is currently building an eligibility list for Firefighter.
Department Overview: Eight departments within the Northern Colorado area. Each department offers something different to each individual whether it be trainings, certifications, and areas of specialties; but all have the same goal to help assist, serve, and make a difference to all those they meet.
Area Information: Mainly serving suburban and rural areas with smaller farming town populations, supported by oil and gas companies. Major highways and populated routes with heavy tanker/truck traffic. Candidates are encouraged to visit each department’s website to get more information about the areas.
Population: Varies from appx 1,500-25,000 depending on department location
Age : 18 years or older
Citizenship Required : Yes or lawfully work in the US
High School Grad/GED : Yes
Valid COLORADO Driver's License : Yes
Ability to Read/Speak English : Yes
Vision : Have good vision in both eyes, with the ability to distinguish colors like those the Occupational and Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) color codes for hazardous materials, no depth or peripheral vision impairment; all corrected with contact lenses, spectacles, and/or surgery.
Academy Certification : No
Prior Experience : No
Minimum certification requirements :
SOME departments within the consortium do accept out-of-State certifications that are IFSAC and/or Pro Board accredited. Please verify certification requirements establish by each Department through the links provided on the NCFRC website.
Hiring Process : Each department has different hiring processes and requirements. Be sure to verify with each department you wish to apply for to make sure you have submitted the correct and completed documentation
Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers : No felony convictions. Ability to pass a background investigation after a conditional offer of employment.
Driving Disqualifiers : In possession of, or have the ability to obtain, a valid state Colorado driver’s license. The demonstrated ability to drive safely from a satisfactory driving record.
Drug Use Disqualifiers : Ability to pass drug/alcohol screen prior to hiring after a conditional offer of employment. No felony drug convictions or marijuana use.The consortium reserves the right to not accept any of the applicants, to terminate the application process at any time, or to modify, reduce, or increase the application/examination requirements at any time, in its sole discretion, subject to applicable law.
