Job Requirements

Age:
21

Citizenship Required:
Yes, at time of appointment.

High School Grad / GED:
College attendance preferred. Diploma or GED acceptable.

Driver's License:
Yes

Ability to Read/Speak English:
Yes; Ability to read and speak Spanish as well is preferred.

Vision:
Visual and Hearing Acuity: Must meet the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training requirements as detailed in Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) 259-¬008¬-0000,http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/pages/rules/oars_200/oar_259/259_008.html

College:
Criminal Justice/Psychology attendance or degree preferred.

Academy Certification:
Current and former Chemeketa Law Enforcement students encouraged to apply.

A desire to work with a diverse community to help enrich the lives of our youth, and families. Believes in community policing, supportive of building positive police school relationships and is looking for a department who will invest in their foundational training to be a stronger applicant for full-time police officer positions.
