FIREFIGHTER / EMT – PART TIME, CAREER

Part Time Firefighter/EMT – Entry Level OR Lateral, non-represented, subject to civil service commission rules and regulations

Work Schedule:
Non-Standard; 24-hour shifts
Pay Range:
Benefits Include:
· Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (PERS) - Plan 2 or 3

· Vacation and holiday accruals (pro-rated)
· Sick leave shall accrue based on the number of hours worked.
The City of Lynden is establishing a continuous eligibility roster for the position of Part-Time Firefighter. The list will be used to fill entry level and lateral part-time vacancies occurring for at least twelve (12) months from the date the list is certified by the Civil Service Commission.
Firefighters provide emergency assistance and protective services; they protect life and property threatened by fire, explosion, hazardous materials, medical emergencies, accidents, and other hazards that may arise. Activities include emergency response, training and drill activities, pre- fire planning, and maintenance of apparatus, facilities, and equipment. Firefighters are assigned to a 24-hour rotating shift and may be exposed to hazardous conditions and risk of personal injury.
