Department Overview: The Nogales Fire and Medical Department serves a population of approximately 20,000 people covering an area of 21 square miles. The department responds to an estimated 3,000 calls for services each year from two fire stations. The organization operates under an "all hazards" model and provides fire protection, emergency medical services, community risk reduction, hazardous materials and technical rescue response to the citizens of Nogales and its visitors.

AZ State Drivers License

State of Arizona Firefighter I and II Certification

State of Arizona EMCT-EMT Certification

Additional Requirements:

ICS 100, 200, 700 Certification - Within ONE (1) Year of date of hire

Wildland Firefighter Certification - Within ONE (1) year of date of hire

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed both in an indoor and outdoor work environment.
May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds.
May be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, hazardous chemicals and infectious diseases.
May be required to climb ladders.
May be required to work at high places. May be required to work in confined spaces.

Firefighters work a 24hr on/48hr off work schedule
