The City of Henderson's Municipal Court is pleased to accept applications for our Municipal Court Marshal position. Candidates must submit a City of Henderson online job application and then take the National Testing Exam within thirty (30) days of submitted application.

Salary Information: $29.47 - $45.71 (Four 10-hour workdays, 40-hour work week)

Paid Time Off (PTO)
- From date of hire, employee is credited with a minimum of 18 days* of PTO prorated by the number of full months remaining in the calendar year, not including the month of hire. In January of each year, employee will be provided with a lump sum annual allocation of PTO as follows:
- Second year through fifth calendar years of service – 22 days
- Sixth year through twelfth calendar years of service – 26 days
- Thirteenth calendar year of service and beyond – 30 days

*Actual number of days of PTO granted may vary by position.

- Banked Holidays: Holidays that fall on a day the employee is not scheduled to work will be banked.
- Floating Holidays: Employee credited with two (2) floating holidays at the beginning of each calendar year. If hired prior to July 1, employee will be credited with two (2) floating holidays and if hired between July 1 and October 31, employee will be credited with one (1) floating holiday.

Department Overview:

The City of Henderson Municipal Court Marshal Service has an established history of over twenty (20) years providing public safety and security to visitors of the Henderson Municipal Court. The Marshal service is comprised of fifteen (15) Full-Time Marshals that perform law enforcement functions associated with the operations of the Henderson Municipal Court. Functions include the protection of individuals accessing the Court, building perimeter protection/security, courtroom security/functions and field services; and performs related duties as required.

Yes, valid license from any state. Upon hire, must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license as defined by NRS 483

Prior Experience:
One (1) year of experience as a Full-Time commissioned law enforcement officer, excluding Law Enforcement Academy Training time.

Necessary Certifications:
Must possess a Nevada Peace Officer Standard Training (P.O.S.T.) Category II Certificate at the time of appointment, Category I Certificate is preferred

Additional Requirements:
According to NAC 289.110: A person may not be appointed to perform duties of a peace officer if he or she has: been convicted of a felony in this state or of any offense which would be a felony if committed in this State; been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude or the unlawful use, sale or possession of a controlled substance; or a documented history of physical violence

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or the equivalent
One (1) year of experience as a full-time commissioned law enforcement officer, excluding Law Enforcement Academy Training time
Must possess a current Nevada Peace Officer Standard Training (P.O.S.T.) Category II certificate at the time of appointment, Category I Certificate is preferred
According to NAC 289.110: A person may not be appointed to perform duties of a peace officer if he or she has: been convicted of a felony in this state or of any offense which would be a felony if committed in this State; been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude or the unlawful use, sale or possession of a controlled substance; or a documented history of physical violence
Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license as defined by NRS 483
Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check.
Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two years. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment.
