Position Title: Correctional Officer

The DeWitt County Sheriff's Office is currently hiring for the position of Correctional Officer! To be considered for this position candidates must complete the NTN Law Enforcement exam and Public Safety Self Assessment to be considered.

This position also requires a department application that can be found here.

Successful Candidates will be required to attend Basic Correctional Officer Academy.

Salary Information: $41,558/year

Lateral Transfers are defined as an Officer who is currently employed as a full-time law enforcement (peace) officer in a sheriff's department, police department, or other law enforcement agency for a minimum of twenty-four (24) consecutive months with a single law enforcement agency and have completed that agency's required probationary period. Lateral Transfers are not required to attend the Corrections Academy.
