The department requires the candidate complete the Public Safety Self Assessment (PSSA). You can access the questionnaire through your candidate account. NTN suggests completing the PSSA as soon as possible so there is not a delay in your process.

Base Salary Information: $69,646 to $88,888 Annually

Incentive Pay:
Advanced EMT 3% of base rate
Intermediate EMT 4% of base rate
Paramedic 6% of base rate

(Not Cumulative)

Education:
$75 per month for Associates Degree
$150 per month for Bachelors Degree
(Not Cumulative)

Benefit Information: Excellent medical, prescription, vision and dental benefits with premium cost sharing between the City and employee.

What You’ll Do

Respond to and mitigate all-hazard incidents (emergent and non-emergent).
Provide BLS/ALS medical care aligned to your EMT certification level.
Document patient care accurately and professionally.
Train daily, maintain equipment, and uphold Duty, Excellence, Accountability, and Community.

Residency: Employees shall live within 45 minutes of the Hillcrest, Parkway or Redwood Fire Station as calculated by department policy.

Driver's License:
Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a Class C Oregon Driver's License within 30 days of employment

Prior Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent and an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description

Necessary Certifications:
Valid driver’s license, with the ability to attain an Oregon Class C Driver’s License within 30 days of appointment
Valid State of Oregon Emergency Medical Technician License
NFPA Firefighter 1 certificate at time of hire

Preferred at time of hire:

DPSST Wildland FFT2 Certificate
NFPA Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator certificate
IS-700.a and IS-100

Additional Requirements:

Public Safety Background Required:
