POLICE DISPATCHER TRAINEE

Join our dynamic Police Department as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher Trainee and become an essential part of the community's safety network. We are looking for self-motivated, community-focused individuals ready to take on a rewarding and impactful role.

As a Dispatcher, you will:

Provide life-saving services and connect those in need with critical assistance
Support the safety and well-being of the community
Operate advanced communication equipment, including radios, telephones, and computer systems
Dispatch police officers to emergencies and non-emergency calls

Paid Training Provided!

We will equip you with the skills and tools to master emergency response and dispatch operations.

Job Requirements

Must be 18 years of age as of the date of hire
Must be a United States citizen or meet citizenship requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to read and speak English
Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a Terminal Operator Certificate within one year of employment

Hiring Process

The selection process for the Simi Valley Police Department includes multiple steps to ensure applicants meet the necessary qualifications:

Computerized Test – Pass or Fail*
Oral Interview
Background Investigation, which includes:
- Medical exam
- Psychological evaluation
- Polygraph test
- Drug/alcohol screening

*Computerized Testing Process

Testing is conducted by the National Testing Network (NTN), which will share test results with the City to advance applicants to the next stage.

Salary Information

Starting Salary:

$25.74 hourly

After Completion of Program:

$29.09 - $37.12 hourly
Additional night shift pay and outstanding benefits.

Work Schedule

10-hour shifts, 4 days a week
Rotations every four months
Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays
