Job Classification: Police Officer - Entry Level
The Butler Township Police Department is seeking to establish an eligibility list for the position of Entry Level Police Officer. Candidates must take the FrontLine National exam through National Testing Network to be considered further in the hiring process.
The department requires the candidate Public Safety Self Assessments (PSSAs) and Typing Test. You can access the assessments through your candidate account. NTN suggests completing the PSSAs and Typing Test as soon as possible so there is not a delay in your process.

Salary Information: The current starting salary for Police Officer is $69,888 with an established wage scale that increases up to $86,011.

Department Overview: The Butler Township Police Department is a full-service police agency. The department is currently growing to meet the increased needs of our community. We have recently expanded to an authorized strength of 23 full time officers.
The Butler Township Police Department is a progressive department, certified by the Ohio Collaborative, offering continued professional training and exceptional working conditions. In addition to the issued uniforms, the Township provides external load-bearing vests, and permits officers to wear facial hair and display non-offensive tattoos.
Opportunities for advancement include detective positions, task force investigation assignments, crash investigation, evidence technician, and supervisory positions. The Township offers an excellent benefits package consisting of Healthcare Insurance, Life Insurance, Vacation leave, Personal leave, and Sick leave. Officers currently work a rotating days off schedule which allows officers varying days off throughout the year. Located at the intersection of I-70 and I-75. Butler Township offers a small community feel with access to vast commercial development. Butler Township is located adjacent to the Dayton International Airport and is just a few miles from downtown Dayton in north-central Montgomery County.
