Position Title: Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic

Northern Union County Fire and EMS is building an eligibilty list for the position of Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic with 3 positions currently available! Candidates are required to complete the following in order to be considered:

Public Safety Self Assessment (PSSA)
Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ)

Salary Information: $49,120 per year based on a 56 hours/week, OT, & paid holidays

Benefit Information: Vacation After Probationary Period, Sick Time, Medical Insurance. OP&F Retirement.

Department Overview: Northern Union County Fire and EMS is located in Northern Union County Ohio. NUCFD serves an area of 74 square miles encompassing the Village of Richwood, Claibourne, Jackson, & York Townships with a population of over 5600 residents. NUCFD is comprised of 6 full-time firefighters and 35 part-time firefighters operating out of a single fire station. Our current staffing model is 5 per shift. 2 full time Firefighter/Paramedics and 3 part-time Firefighter/EMT/Paramedics. Our current response volume is an average of 850 fire/ems calls per year. Pass a pre-employment physical in accordance with NFPA 1582 and Ohio Police & Fire Pension
Pass an annual physical once program is implemented

Medical- PHYSICAL CONDITION:
The candidate must successfully complete a physical abilities test prior to appointment. Candidates that possess a Firefighter Mile certificate within the previous 12 months of application are exempt from the physical abilities test. Internal applicants may be eligible for testing exemptions at the discretion of the Fire Chief.
