The City of Schertz, Texas Fire Rescue is currently in the process of establishing a Firefighter hiring eligibility list to fill four openings expected to occur between now and August 18, 2025. Test scores can be used for 1 year from the date of posting.
The department also requires the candidate to complete the Public Safety Self Assessment (PSSA) Part 1. You can access this through your candidate account. NTN suggests completing the PSSA as soon as possible so there is not a delay in your process.
Salary Information: $61,073 - $80,357 annually without additional FSLA overtime
Benefit Information: The City of Schertz offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D coverage, disability, and matched participation in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS). TMRS rate is 7% employee with a 2 to 1 match (14%) by the city. You are vested after 5 years and eligible to retire at any age after 20 years of continued empolyment.
