Position Title: Police Officer
The Wyoming Police Department is currently hiring for the position of Police Officer! If you are not currently a Full Time Police Officer, all candidates must take the FrontLine National exam and PHQ through National Testing Network by July 7, 2025.All applicants MUST complete and submit a department application located here.
Salary Information:
**The below numbers reflect the city covering employee pension. Per new contract beginning in 2026 employee will cover pension and the pay rate from below will be increased to the range of $95,688-$103,296. Non-Lateral will be $71,263.**

Starting salary commensurate with full time experience and qualifications.
Benefit Information:
· *100% pension paid by the city, not reflected in above numbers until 2026, then new pay rate*

· Longevity pay annually after 3 years of service.
· Accrued sick time with another agency can be transferred.
· Service time can be transferred and will be used for purposes of calculating vacation.

· 12 hour work schedule, every other weekend off, (1) “Kelley” day off granted every 6 weeks.
· Overtime paid at time and a half after 80 hours in time period.
· Off-duty details with the city is paid at time and a half and goes toward pension.

Department Overview: The City of Wyoming Police Department is a community oriented police agency that places an emphasis on community involvement and compassionate service. We employ 19 full time sworn law enforcement officers, including the Chief of Police, Assistant Chief, and Detective. We also have 3 full time clerks. Each of the four shifts is manned by 3 police officers under the direction of a Sergeant / Shift Supervisor. Officers can also be assigned collateral duties, including multi-jurisdictional SWAT, Dive and Honor Guard Teams. Officers are provided exceptional training and growth opportunities. We operate our own indoor firing range and provide ammunition and 1 hour of overtime to train each month. Our compensation package continues to be one of the highest in the area.
