Scale: Seven Years top out, Seven Steps - Contract years 2025 through 2027
Starting Pay: Jan 1, 2025- $28.02, Jan 1, 2026 $29.43, Jan 1, 2027 $30.60
Top Pay for Officer Jan 1, 2027: Step seven- $41.47 or $86,257.60
Benefit Information: Paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, compensatory leave accruals, three personal days, overtime, pension plan, educational bonuses, shift differential pay, excellent training opportunities, and specialized assignments that include SRT, Bike Patrol, K9, School Resource Officer, DARE, Detective, and Drone Pilots. Specialized assignments selections are based on proper fit for the position, and not necessarily based on seniority.

Hiring Process:Candidates must complete a physical agility test, panel interview, background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological examination, and medical examination. Civil Service Commission will certify a list of ten.Working Conditions:Normal working schedule is five, eight-hour shifts. Annual firearms certification, TASER, LEADS, BAC/Breathalyzer, and ongoing Lexipol daily training. Voluntary, paid training is available year-round with approval. Successful candidates must be able to sustain the rigorous duties of policing. Fitness, wellness, and mental health preparedness are important to success. Must maintain ability to perform all related duties as assigned. Since Ohio is a seasonal state, all types of weather can occur throughout the year. This can make working conditions more challenging, but proper attire is provided by the agency. We are a para-military organization and respect the chain of command. Employees report directly to Sergeants. Two Lieutenants provide administrative support, and report directly to the Chief of Police.
