Position Title: Police Officer (Full Time)

The Johnstown Division of Police is currently hiring for the position of police officer. Candidates will be required to complete the following to be considered for this position:

NTN's Frontline National Exam
Public Safety Self-Assessment (PSSA, accessed through your candidate account)
Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ, accessed through your candidate account)

Salary Information: $27.74 - $33.75

This newly created position will complete our staff of 11-sworn and non-sworn personnel. The ideal candidate will need to be centered on the needs of the Johnstown Community and complement our already outstanding professional team. The ideal candidate will uphold State laws and our local ordinances. The ideal candidate will need to be a good self-starter, an active listener, and an aptitude to aid others. Area Information:

The City of Johnstown is poised for growth, and that growth is directly on our horizon. Intel will build a $20 billion microchip facility in New Albany which is now a bordering city to our community. Our growth is likely to be exponential.

Currently, we are looking for police officer candidates to be on the ground floor and grow with us! The Chief of Police, appointed in 2022, has been very aggressive in moving the Johnstown Police Department towards a robust, modern police agency. His focus is aimed toward education,training, and equipment.

Academy Certification:
Must obtain or currently hold an Ohio Police Officer Academy Certification prior to testing

Necessary Certifications:
Possess a valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy certificate.

Hiring Process:

Passing Score on NTN exam. Completion of the National Testing Network test with scores at 80% or higher in all categories and completed Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ.)
Detailed Background Investigation.
Oral and or board Interviews.
Fingerprinting.
Polygraph examination.
Interview with Chief.
Conditional offer of employment.
Ohio Police & Fire Pension Board physical examination.
