Position Title: Full time positions
Northwestern Fire District is currently hiring both fulltime and partime first responders. All applicants must complete the FireTEAM exam and the Firefighter Mile through National Testing Network.
All applicants must complete the Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) and the Public Safety Self Assessment (PSSA) located in your candidate profile on National Testing Network. Additional all applicants must have the minimum training requirements completed at the time of appointment.
Salary Information: $50,000 - $83,000
Benefit Information: No premium for base life Dental, & Vision Insurance. A premium split for (employer/employee) for Health insurance. 10 paid Holidays, Vacation, Sick and Personal Accrual. Department Overview: The Northwestern Joint Fire District, founded in 2020, proudly serves the 6000+ people living in and traveling through Liberty, Taylor, Leesburg and York Townships of Union County, Ohio. While the Fire District is new it is based on 70+ years of collaboration between the townships operating as a primarily volunteer department. The district's current membership comprises 12-POC (paid on-call), 24-part time members, currently 6 fulltime firefighter and a full-time chief. The Northwestern Joint Fire District is transitioning from a Volunteer/POC department with part-time staffing to a fully staffed progressive department focusing on safety, training, professional development, and customer service operating out of two stations.

We are looking for driven individuals and the opportunity to advance their careers while helping develop a new department from the ground up in some areas; excellent teamwork and communication skills. The Fire District utilizes strategic planning. The Fire District receives approximately 430 calls annually and is an active participant in automatic aid locally and statewide mutual aid system. Additionally, the Fire District is looking to develop and utilize a proactive Community Paramedicine program, Community Services/outreach education and become active in special operations within the county.
Employment is dependent on successful completion of CPAT or Firefighter Mile physical fitness evaluation/assessment, drug screening, thorough background check, and OP&FPF physical.
