Position Title: Police Officer - Lateral
San Fernando Police Department is building an eligibility list for Lateral Police Officer. All applicants must complete the FrontLine National exam through National Testing Network.

Salary Information: $6,407-7,938 monthly
Benefit Information: For Classic Members 3%@55, CALPERS retirement, City pays 50% of normal cost, Medical Insurance paid in full by City not to exceed the premium for the 3rd highest plan offered by CalPERS for the LA Region. Sick leave 96 hours per year up to 800 maximum accrual, partial payment above 800 accrued, pay equivalent to and in lieu of 96 hours holiday pay, 3/12 schedule, vacation pay 90 hours per year for years 1-4, 135 hours for years 5-15 and 180 hours 15 years and after per year. $800 annual uniform allowance, $100 bilingual pay, POST Intermediate Certificate Pay 4%, Advanced Certificate Pay 4%, Supervisor Certificate pay 2.5%. Longevity pay after 5 years (effective 7/1/23) 5% after 5 years, 7.5% after 10 years, 10% after 10 years.

The police department offers a small, intimate family environment with 35 sworn personnel, 16 professional staff and 18 sworn reserve police officers. We offer special assignments such as Detectives, K-9, School Resource Officer, Field Training Officer and others.
