ENTRY LEVEL FIREFIGHTER
Front Range Fire Rescue (FRFR) Firefighters protect lives and property through firefighting, emergency medical care, fire prevention, disaster response, community service, and public education. FRFR currently has three fire stations. Stations 1 and 2 are staffed 24/7, with three shifts working a rotating 48-96 shift schedule. Station 3 is staffed by our partners from the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control. This year, we added a ladder company. FRFR has plans for two additional stations in the coming years.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To qualify as an Entry Firefighter, at the time of application, the applicant must possess and provide copies of the following certifications:
· High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
· Must be 18 years of age by the date of hire
· Valid FireTEAM test scores
· Valid CPAT certificate
· Valid EMT-Basic certification
· Possess a valid driver’s license. Possess and maintain an acceptable driving record following FRFR’s Driving Records Policy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· AAS/AA Degree
SALARY INFORMATION
· Firefighter recruits will attend the Front Range Fire Consortium (FRFC) Academy for up to 16 weeks and be paid $24.25/hour. Following the successful completion of the academy, the 2025 rate is $73,500 per year as a probationary firefighter.
· FRFR strongly values education and compensates employees who have a degree with an education differential from date of hire: Associates 2% of base wage, Bachelors 4% of base wage, Masters 6% of base wage (2025). This is the highest in Colorado!
