Academy Certification:
Must attend and successfully complete the police academy and possess a DPSST basic certification within 18 months of hire.

Necessary Certifications:
To qualify as a lateral officer, candidate must possess a current DPSST basic police certification or equivalent out of state certification.

Hiring Process:

Complete and pass the Frontline National test with the National Testing Network prior to application –Entry Level Officer Position
Successfully pass Oregon Physical Ability Test (ORPAT) – Entry Level Officer Position

Psychological Evaluation
Medical Evaluation & Drug Screen

Working Conditions:
The patrol staff works a rotating 12-hour schedule that allows staff two weekends off each month.
