The Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) is seeking qualified entry-level and lateral-level police officer applicants to join our team. We welcome motivated, service minded individuals who are committed to lifelong learning and who will uphold the values and core principles of the department.

Earn additional pay for certifications and other specialty areas
25 Year Retirement (No Age Limit)
Academy training is paid at full salary
Work the equivalent of a 37.5 hour work week, 15 days a month on patrol, with 4 and 5 consecutive days off at a time

To participate in the Police Officer recruitment process, all candidates must meet the following requirements:

Applicants must have completed at least 60 semester hours, or 90 quarter hours, or course work at an accredited college or university by date of hire, or substitute prior military/police experience.
Applicants must be at least 20 years and 6 months of age at time of application.
