Position Title: Jail Corrections Deputy

The Malheur County Sheriff's Office is building an eligibility list for the position of Jail Corrections Deputy. Candidates are required to complete NTN's REACT exam and PSSA to be considered for the postion.

Salary Information: $3654.87 Monthly starting salary w/ regular step increases

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications to Apply:

Possess a valid driver license
Ability to Read/Speak English
Education High School Grad/GED
Must pass or provide proof of passing the National Dispatcher Selection Test with an average score of 70 points.
Vision: Must meet Department of Police Officer Selection requirements.
Hearing: Must meet Department of Public Standards and Training Requirements.

Additional Requirements:
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS-LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS
Within one year of employment must earn and maintain DPSST Corrections, and LEDS certifications. All applicants must be able to maintain a valid First Aid and CPR card.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS (NOT REQUIRED):

Clerical computer skills.
Experience with communication and serving the public.
Demonstrated skill in typing with accuracy and speed.
Some knowledge of radio operations.
Some knowledge of multi-line phone systems.
A combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position.
