Job Description
North Whidbey Fire & Rescue
Position Title: Part-Time Firefighter/EMT
North Whidbey Fire and Rescue is currently recruiting part-time Firefighter/EMTs. The fire district’s service area, on North Whidbey Island, is predominately rural and surrounds the City of Oak Harbor and NAS Whidbey Island. The district operates out of seven fire stations, providing fire, emergency medical, marine rescue, and technical rescue services, and responds to approximately 2,500 calls annually. Part-time Firefighter/EMTs work 24-hour shifts in regularly scheduled positions. Part-time Firefighter/EMT work 120 hours per month 24/96 shift. The hourly wage for part-time Firefighter/EMTs is $19.29 to $22.72, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, Part-time employees working regularly scheduled shifts are eligible to receive benefits under the current IAFF contract.

· 18 years of age

· 11 July 2025: Invitations will be e-mailed out for applicants who will be invited to participate in In-person written test, PAT, Oral Board Panels, and Hands-On Skills
