Position Title: Police Officer Entry or Lateral
The Hermiston Police Department is building and eligibility list for the position of Police Officer Entry or Lateral. Candidates are required to complete NTN's Frontline National Exam and a Department Application to be considered for the position.

Department Overview: Hermiston Police Department is a diverse and progressive police department located in rural eastern Oregon. We have a population of just a little over 20,000 residents. Our department currently has 37 sworn officers. Our patrol division works a 12-hour schedule with a three-day (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) weekend every other week. Our officers all have a personally assigned car they can take home with them if they live within 30 minutes of the city.
Area Information: Our region is in the midst of unprecedented growth with Amazon Web Services rapidly expanding and adding more data centers which create many family wage jobs. Tri-Cities Washington (Richland, Pasco and Kennewick) is a short 30-minute drive if you need amenities of a bigger city. Our Climate is mild with a long growing season. Agriculture is the primary resource coming from our region. We also have many wineries and breweries within a short driving distance of Hermiston.

Working Conditions:Our staff are very well equipped and work a rotating 12-hour schedule (Pitman). They rotate every 4 weeks from days to nights and nights to days. This schedule allows an equal number of days off as workdays.
