Berthoud Fire Protection District is seeking applicants for both full-time Firefighter/EMTs and Reserve Firefighters.
Berthoud Firefighters aren't just a number. You will be an essential part of our mission, ‘To Serve. To Care. To Support’. Our firefighters average over 350 hours of individual training annually and respond to over 2,000 calls for service out of our 2 stations.
Firefighter/EMT and Reserve Firefighter Minimum Requirements:
Note: All certifications must remain current through the time of the conditional offer. Out-of-state and Colorado Metropolitan Certification Board certifications will be considered if they meet the reciprocity requirements per the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control.

Department Overview:
Berthoud Fire provides fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services, wildland protection, extrication, hazardous materials response, risk reduction, dive/ice/swift water/rope rescue, and public safety education.The District spans 103 square miles, servicing the Town of Berthoud and surrounding areas including Boulder, Larimer and Weld Counties. The district includes significant portions of US Highway 287 and Interstate 25 in addition to an 1,100 acre reservoir (Carter Lake).We operate out of two stations with plans of expansion due to the growth in the surrounding community. Our department size allows greater opportunities for our firefighters to become a part of our special teams and wildland deployments. And due to our robust training program, each of our firefighters log over 300 training hours per year.Berthoud Fire Protection District strives to provide the highest quality of service to Berthoud and its surrounding area. We also pride ourselves in hiring from within with 85% of our career firefighters starting as Reserve firefighters. Our Reserve firefighters receive experience and additional training with first priority for full-time, career positions.
