Salary Information: $44,072.79

Department Overview:

AFD is a small city department responding to approximately 3,500 calls a year. We have 27 career line firefighters with a minimum of 7 working at all times. As a member of AFD you will have an opportunity to work as an interior structural firefighter.

City/County/Area Information:

A mix of residential, commercial and industry. We also are the home of
the Mount Union Purple Raiders.

Job Requirements:

Age: 18 - 34
US Citizen: Yes
High School Grad/GED: Yes
Valid State Driver’s License: Yes
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision (i.e. 20/20): Must be able to pass the OP&F pre-employment physical
College: No
Academy Certification: Must have FFII by time of appointment.
Necessary Certifications: FFII, EMT-B(preferred)

Hiring Process:
Successful applicants will be interviewed by a panel composed of AFD’s senior
staff. Those invited to advance will then need to complete the department’s
firefighter skills competency course in order to be eligible to receive a conditional
job offer.
