Department OverviewFond du Lac Fire Rescue is an Internationally Accredited Agency and an ISO Class I fire rescue department. The agency is made up of 74 dedicated members to serve by providing the very best fire protection, fire prevention, pre-hospital emergency care, hazard mitigation and rescue. Our service motto, Duty, Honor, Pride and Tradition serve as the foundation of our commitment to everyone we serve. City/County/Area InformationThe City of Fond du Lac is centrally located between Wisconsin’s three major cities of Milwaukee, Madison, and Green Bay. Fond du Lac is the hub for the major transportation routes between each of these metropolitan areas and is located no more than 70 miles from each city. The agency serves the City of Fond du Lac which has an estimated 2017 census population of 42,959 citizens and a daytime population of approximately 50,000. The added increase in daytime population is due to business, industry, and school enrollment. According to the United States Census Bureau, Fond du Lac has a total area of 20.11 square mileswith 18.82 square miles being land and 1.29 square miles being water. Fond du Lac Fire / Rescue (FDLFR) not only provides fire protection for the City of Fond du Lac, it also delivers Advanced Life Support (paramedic) emergency medical services throughout the city and contracted areas throughout the county along with specialty properties
