The Jefferson Country Sheriff's Office is currently hiring for the position of Patrol Deputy. Candidates are required to complete the NTN Frontline exam along with the PSSA & PHQ & ORPAT.

Salary Information:
Monthly: Basic $5,755.92 – $6,834.72 Intermediate $7,348.02 Advanced $7,642.08. (8 steps) The employee pays 6% into PERS/OPSRP.
Lateral Monthly: Basic $5,381.82 - $6,391.02, Intermediate $6,871.26, Advanced $7,144.44 Employer pays 6% into PERS.
Incentive pay for Bilingual, FTO, SWAT, and Detective.
7.5% to current step upon promotion to Corporal
Assitance with relocation to Jefferson County

Department Overview:
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office employs over 40 full-time members, including patrol, corrections, civil and civilian positions. The Sheriff’s Office provides 24-7 coverage to over 22,000 citizens and patrols 1,781 sq miles. Coverage areas include Madras, Metolius, Culver, Crooked River Ranch, Camp Sherman, Gateway, Ashwood, Lake Billy Chinook, and Simtustis. The JCSO is growing and along with regular patrol duties, the sheriff's office also has 3 detective positions, an additional CODE Detective, 2 school resource officers, SWAT, Field Training Officers, Search and Rescue, 2.5 marine positions (one being assigned to the lakes in the summer and regular patrol through the fall and spring). Most patrol deputies work a rotating 12-hour 4 on 4 off shift.
