Salary Information: $82,451 after three years

Department Overview
The Maple Heights Fire Department proudly serves the City of 25,000 residents with 24/7 fire protection and emergency medical service. Staffing consists of 36 full-time sworn members who are state-certified firefighters and paramedics. Operating out of two stations, the department responds to over 6,000 calls for service with two engines and two ALS squads. Highly motivated individuals will enjoy a fast-paced environment where their skills will frequently be used.

Certificates issued to successful candidates will be valid and accepted for a period of one year following the date of the physical agility test.

Job Description
This position involves firefighting and EMS work on a 24 hours on/48 hours off rotating shift. Work requires demanding physical effort. The position of firefighter is an inherently dangerous and stressful position. Dangers inherent in the work can be only partially controlled through preventive measures. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Company Officer such as a Lieutenant or Captain.
