Job Classification: Full Time Firefighter Paramedic/EMT
The Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District (HRFPD) is conducting testing to develop a pool of candidates for the position of Full Time Firefighter Paramedic/EMT. Candidates are required to take the NTN Fireteam exam and complete the NTN PHQ/Application. All testing and documents must be completed no later than July 31 2025.

As needed, the HRFPD will contact individuals from the pool of candidates to participate in the remainder of the testing process.
Salary Range: Firefighter/Paramedic $70,004.00-$92,140.00
Firefighter/EMT $65,054.00-$85,606.62

Department Information: The Harlem-Roscoe Fire Protection District is currently composed of approximately 26 Career Firefighters, Contract Personnel, Paid on-premises firefighters, and Paid on-call firefighters. The HRFPD strives to provide top-notch training to all personnel to keep them sharp in all the areas in which we provide service. Operating from 3 strategically located fire stations, we respond to over 4,000 emergency calls a year for fires, emergency medical services, vehicle accidents, specialized rescues, and much more.Area Information: The HRFPD covers a 85 square mile area including the communities of Roscoe, Rockton and Machesney Park in Winnebago County. Population: 30,000
Job Requirements :Age: Be 19-35. Aplicants must me at least 21 years of age to be eligible for hire and less than 35 years of age prior to an offer of employment. Age 35 may be waived if the candidate meets the requirements as identified in Illinois Compiled Statues, 70 ILCS 705/16.06b. US Citizenship: Legal resident of the United States of America or Naturalized Alien.High School Grad/GED: High School Diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or Equivalent.Valid State Driver's License: Possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License.Ability to Read/Speak English: Be capable of reading, speaking and writing in the English language.Medical: Medical evaluation including vision and other requirements in accordance with the current edition of NFPA 1582.
