Classification: P.O.S.T. Certified Police Officer

The Evans Police Department is currently recruiting for the position of P.O.S. T Certified Police Officer. This department is testing by invitation only.

Candidates invited to test must complete the FrontLine National Exam. This position will be open until filled.

Salary Information: $75,866.00-$99,724.00

High School Grad / GED:
Yes

Driver's License:
Possession of a valid Colorado Driver’s license & insurable under the City’s policy

Ability to Read/Speak English:
Yes

College:
Possession of or an ability to attain an Associate’s degree from an accredited college within 36 months from date of hire

Academy Certification:
Yes

Necessary Certifications:
Must possess Colorado POST certification prior to date of hire or be a certified officer in another state and eligible for POST certification in Colorado, prior to date of hire

Additional Qualifications:

No felony convictions or convictions involving moral turpitude
Illegal drug use within the last 5 years will be evaluated as part of the selection process
Marijuana use within the last 2 years will be evaluated as part of the selection process

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
Spanish/English bi-lingual skills
Military experience

Preference points will be awarded for education, veteran status and bi-lingual Spanish/English proficiency within the oral board interview process, in conjunction with the development of the eligibility list.
