Snohomish County Fire District #5 is seeking new and lateral career Firefighter/Paramedics!
* Annual Wage - The 2025 wage scale includes 4 steps: $90,495 to $113,119* Shift Schedule - 48/96 Shift Schedule on a 24 day cycle. 15 Kelly Days per year.* Medical Insurance - WA Fire Commissioners PPO-100 plan Medical, Dental, Vision. SCFD5 pays 100% of employee premium and 90% of dependent premiums.*Other Benefits - Washington State LEOFF Retirement System, Vacation Buy-Back, Longevity Program,4% Deferred Compensation Plan Contribution, Education Incentives, HRA/VEBA, Life Insurance Policy,Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan (MERP).

Education & Experience:
Minimum Qualifications: Entry Level:• High School Diploma or Equivalent• Proficiency in English Language (Read, Write)• WA State Drivers License• Valid NREMT Paramedic• Current ACLS and PALS (or equivalent)• Ability to pass comprehensive background check• Preferred Certs: FF1 & Hazmat Awareness
Qualifications for Lateral Consideration:• Firefighter 2, HazMat Operations• Minimum 3 years of Previous Paid Experience• ICS 100, 200, 700, 800• Driver Operator Experience

The ideal candidate is one that thrives in rural environments and works well with a closeknit team of emergency professionals. These positions require people with emotional and social intelligence, a strong moral compass, excellent listening and customer service skills, and confidence to provide services in a sometimes remote setting. Employees can anticipate a variety of calls, from routine 911 calls for service to complex technical rescues utilizing specialized teams and approaches. The District desires candidates who are active in service improvement initiatives and those who desire to improve on both personal and professional levels. Paramedic Firefighter new hires will immediately begin an in district process following the Snohomish County Paramedic Onboarding and Mentoring Process in addition to fire, driver/operator, and other applicable certification sign offs/competencies.
