Silverbell Fire Department is a part of the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA). Aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF), structure firefighting, fire prevention and inspection for Silverbell Army Heliport is provided for by SBFD.

Age: 18
US Citizen: Yes
High School Grad/GED: Yes
Valid State Driver’s License: Yes
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
College: Desired qualifications include any combination of experience, education, and training that meets the knowledge, skills, an abilities as described. The preferred candidate should have Fire Science associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Academy Certification: Certificates/Qualifications required prior to employment: Department of Defense, the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (PROBOARD) Firefighter I&II.
Prior Experience: Not Required
Necessary Certifications: HAZMAT Operations, Arizona or National Registry certification for EMT-B, First Responder First Aid.
Additional Requirements:

Certificates/Qualifications required within 12 months of employment: Driver Operator-Pumpers, Mobile Water Supply Apparatus, appropriate certifications for assigned fire station, as set forth below.
Silverbell: ARFF (Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter) certification, Driver Operator-ARFF.

Hiring Process:

Hiring process will be a one-day event. This process will consist of a physical test (pass/fail), followed by an in-person interview.
