Reserve Fire Fighter
Do not take this test unless requested to by the Marina Fire Department. Applicants must first fill out an application through government jobs or through the City’s Web Site. The application will be reviewed and those applicants who meet the requirements will be contacted to move forward with the testing. If you have not been granted clearance, the Marina Fire Department will not accept the test scores.

SALARY: Stipend
ELIGIBILITY: Valid Driver’s License, Monterey County EMT Certification. Fire Academy desired.
POSITION SUMMARY: Respond to fire and other emergency calls; protect life and property; combat, extinguish, and prevent fires; maintain and upkeep emergency apparatus, fire engine and other fire equipment, tools and supplies, perform minor repairs, and perform other related work.
VACANCIES: The current opportunity is for a Reserve Fire Fighter.
APPLICATION FILING DEADLINE: Continuous.
EXAMINATION AND SELECTION: Candidates are required to pass all phases of the examination process in order to be placed on the City’s Employment Eligibility List.
APPLICATION EVALUATION: Application materials will be evaluated according to the information contained in each application and quality of materials submitted. A passing score of 70% is required.
WRITTEN TEST: – The written test is from National Testing Network and will consist of:
· FireTEAM Human Relations Video Test
· FireTEAM Mechanical Reasoning Test
· FireTEAM Reading Test
· FireTEAM Math TesT
A passing score of 70% is required.
ORAL BOARD INTERVIEW – The Oral Board Interview may consist of panel members with subject matter expertise in Fire Fighting, and may include a representative from the community. A passing score of 70% is required.
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY LIST - Employees who obtain an overall passing score will be placed on a Employment Eligibility List.
