Position Title: Entry Level Firefighter
Salary Information: $49,000 - $50,600 (3% increase in July 2025)Benefit Information: A full-time Salem Firefighter receives health, dental and vision insurances, holiday pay and vacation benefits. Prior to appointment, the candidate must have passed a physical agility test (certiifcate no older than 2 years) with a maximum time of completion no greater than 4 minutes and 30 seconds, pass a comprehensive medical examination (to include drug testing) and any other tests deemed necessary by the Civil Service Commission. Candidates are subject to a character investigation by the State of Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and a driving abstract through the State of Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
