Job Classification: Entry Level Jail Deputy (Express)
**Express Corrections Exam only. Express Correction Exam scores are not transferrable to other departments.**
Salary Information: $77,729.60 Annually (Pay commensurate with certification, experience & training).
*Attention: “Out of Area” applicants who relocate to our county, may be eligible for relocation reimbursement, up to $7,000, upon hire*
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office accepts applications for Recruit Deputy positions on a continuous basis. This means you may apply at any time!
We will accept applications on a continuous basis and actively hire four (4) times per year: January, April, July, October. Hire date is dependent on when applications are received, and successful completion of our hiring process which WILL include the
NATIONAL TESTING NETWORK (NTN) CORRECTIONS –“REACT” test OR proof of a bachelor's degree.
Lateral applications will be processed on a case-by-case basis and hire dates may differ from those above and WILL NOT have to complete the NTN test.

To qualify as a Jail Lateral, candidates must possess a Basic Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training “DPSST” certification OR other equivalent local, state, or federal certification as a Corrections Officer or Jail Deputy; Have completed a Field Training Program; Have at least one year of full-time equivalent (2080 hours) work experience as a certified law enforcement professional. Completion of required work experience must not have occurred greater than 12 months prior to the date of application submission.
Lateral applicants must provide a copy of their current Law Enforcement Certification and resume at time of application.

All jail recruit deputy candidates must CLICK HERE TO APPLY and apply for the "NEW" Recruit Deputy - Jail OR Patrol. If you are not currently registered in NEOGOV the system will prompt you on how to do so.
Jail Recruit Deputy applicants must also take the NATIONAL TESTING NETWORK (NTN) CORRECTIONS-“REACT” test OR proof of a bachelor's degree.
Jail Recruit Deputy applicants are responsible for contacting NTN and arranging for their own testing.
If you already have a valid and current score (taken within the last 12 months), you may submit it instead of taking NTN again OR provide proof of a bachelor's degree.
Physical Abilities Test (PAT):Washington County Sheriff’s Office accepts all official PAT scores and does not limit its applicants to the Oregon ORPAT. Valid PAT testing from the following sources will be accepted:
