The De Pere Fire Rescue Department is accepting applications to fill current vacancies and to establish an eligibility list for future openings. The Fire Rescue Department has a number of opportunities for employees to expand their knowledge and thrive in their career, including responding to Fire and EMS calls, fire inspection, and public education. Our Firefighters work closely with the community to provide education through open houses, school fire safety education, elder care fire safety, station tours, and more!
Area Information: De Pere Fire Rescue is committed to providing a superior level of emergency service that continually improves the quality of life, health and safety of the community we serve. De Pere Fire Rescue has two fire stations, one on each side of the Fox River. DPFR protects a population of more than 25,000 in an area covering roughly 12 square miles. In addition, we cover an area of the Town of Ledgeview, the Town of Lawrence and an area of Ashwaubenon for Emergency Medical Rescue. Combined they cover over 25 square miles with an additional population of over 10,000 people.

Additional Requirements Residency within a 30-mile radius from the center of the Claude Allouez Bridge within 12 months of hire
Hiring Process Notification of open positions will be made through various sites including, but not limited to the City of De Pere website, the City of De Pere and fire department social media pages, the National Testing Network (NTN), etc.
Candidates who submit a complete packet through NTN including resume, NTN CPAT, copies of all pertinent certifications and licensures, and meet the minimum qualifications for this position may be invited via e-mail for a panel interview whenever a vacancy exists.
For candidates advancing in the recruitment process, the following steps may be involved up to the point of a conditional offer of employment: placement on eligibility list, background check, reference check, psychological evaluation, medical examination, and drug/alcohol screening.
Upon successful completion of all steps, a final offer may be made, and the Police and Fire Commission shall confirm the Chief’s final recommended hire.
