Base compensation annually:
Firefighter Area – Paramedic: $56.038 (New-hire recruit academy)
Firefighter – Paramedic: $39.710 to $46.249 (Platoon)

Firefighter Paramedics start on a 4X10 shift for the duration of the new-hire recruit academy before being transferred to the Emergency Response (Platoon) 48X96 schedule. The initial hire compensation rate will reflect the non-platoon wage rate.
Candidate relocation funding is available for this position upon request.
HFD is currently recruiting to fill several Firefighter Paramedic openings. To be considered an eligible candidate for interview, at the time of application all candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. The candidate's work experience must include at least five years of uninterrupted employment, with an organization providing fire-based
Advanced Life Support Emergency Medical Services.
2. Currently employed full-time or retired within the previous 365 days of the application closing date with an organization providing fire-based Advanced Life Support Emergency Medical Services.
3. Must have successfully passed a Firefighter occupational physical or CPAT within the previous 365 days positing closing.
4. Certified Washington State EMT-P or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician- Paramedic, with a “Current” or “Active” status.
5. Firefighter certification at either the IFSAC or ProBoard or Washington State Apprenticeship Council: Firefighter 1 & 2 level certification and Haz-Mat Awareness and Haz-Mat Operations certification.
Applicable position conditions:
Conditional offers may be extended with the provision that all new hires complete and pass an NFPA 1582 “Medical Evaluation of Firefighter Candidates” evaluation at our on-site Occupational Medical Provider.
As a condition of hire, all Paramedic-Firefighters hired under this posting will be required to become certified Washington State Dept. of Health WA-EMT-Paramedic. The details will be discussed at the time of the offer, and our training staff will assist in the certification process.
Candidates hired under this offer will be required to provide EMS care at the level of WA-DOH EMT-P as a primary job function for no less than the first three years of employment.
Candidates progressing in the process will be notified directly via email and must submit color copies of the required training records in PDF format to the HMIS HR Staffing department for validation before an interview will be scheduled.

In 2021, Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS), a Limited Liability Corporation, was awarded a contract by the United States Department of Energy to provide mission-critical All-Hazards Emergency Management services to the Hanford Site.
